Has anyone found a scope mount for a Carcano that they were actually happy with?
I've got a sporterized carbine that I would like to turn into a truck/scout rifle... I'm fine with an offset mount, but some say the Weaver #1 mount won't accommodate stripper clips. I would prefer to not use an extended eye relief scope, and am not a big fan of red dot scopes. The one I have has no sights on it anymore and it looks like it is tapped for a Weaver #1 base (though I don't actually have a #1 base to try).
I've turned plenty of beat up or bubba'd Enfields and Mausers into respectable field guns, but this is my first try with a Carcano... does anyone have any mistakes I can learn from??
