Good luck! Show us some pics of your rig when finished. As far as scopes go, I have a leupold 2x on a Ruger SS Hunter .44 and I like it well. A friend of mine has same rig in .41 and has a Simmons variable (2-6) that has served him well and taken a couple deer. Takes a bit of practice finding full view positioning in a quick manner, especially on higher power. Scope weight helps reduce recoil too. My daughter has a 629 and goes scope free. She likes the recoil management part of the scope (shooting my .44) but for her smaller frame body and strength the extra weight takes away from center hold stability. I handload on lower scale of .44mag (an inbetweener special/mag) for recoil management for her. She has shot a deer with her 629, but unfortunately we did not recover. Low brisket. Placement!
