Got an email from S&W saying they would send me a new recoil spring assembly as soon as they got some in.
I emailed them yesterday about what I have found on mine but only a general inquiry, may send a warranty request for the guid assembly just to be safe.
This is one of the best threads in a long time…..it’s actually about firearms.

This is the pistol that predates the Bodyguard .380 semi-auto series made from 1996 to 2000. The SW380 was a step above a Hi Point.
Total PITA to reload. You had to grab those tabs on either side of the magazine to release it.

I actually had one of those original Bodyguards. I'm not sure it was a step above a Hi Point. 
It was crummy.
The worst pistol I ever owned was a Grendel .380 which you loaded by shoving rounds into the grip through the ejection port. I am still embarrassed I bought that.
