Downloading at Heartland to 10 still gives an edge over the single stack 1911 shooters. To even things up... some of the stages we shoot will call for "mandatory reloads" and 6 shot minimum targets or target arrays.
This a a "defensive" gun match in spirit. It's good to get a few reloads in under the stress of the "clock". Some times the high cap shooters will have plan a reload so they dont shoot a gun dry... or need to reload for 2 shots at the end of the stage, etc. There are ammo management issues for any handgun ever made. Good stages play to the strengths and weaknesses of all platforms.
We even have revolver and snub nosed shooters who can run with the high cappers... very good times on split times... even with the slower reloads.
