I agree with others. I like my 380s but I don’t consider them primary. I carry multiple ways depending on the situation. My primaries are either my 9mm Hellcat on my side or my Kimber 45 that resides in an interior vest pocket. My 380s are in a front pants pocket or ankle holster as last resort.

I’m reading through these responses, and y’all need to tell me what parts of Oklahoma you’re going to need all this firepower so I can avoid them.🤣
In se Oklahoma I have seen hogs, coyote, mt loin , bears, meth heads and pot growers

My every day carry is a 7 round revolver in .32 H&R mag with a backup of an older semi auto Beretta chambered in .32acp. You will get numerous opinions about anything smaller than 9mm. Myself, I'm a firm believer in shot placement. You mention shoot at dogs, I am assuming you are shooting towards them for sound effect to startle them away. Just about any boom will suffice for that. As for self defense I have a rule of thumb for myself and my red headed wife who is an outstanding shot. Carry what you are comfortable with and practice practice practice with that firearm so that God forbid if ever needed you will be able to place that shot (s) where they count. I've had to use a firearm in a self defense mode one time in my life. It was30 years ago and a s&w with a 2" barrel chambered in .38 special. I can tell you by experience that round was plenty!
