I was in an electric substation timing a circuit breaker , down town Boca Raton.
Thats about 100 miles down range from the Cape.

We knew we would see the trail, we were dragging our feet listening to the radio.

We saw the smoke split before the broadcaster mentioned it.

I was sitting in my German II class when the instructor's phone rang (he was one of the only teachers to have a phone in his room back then) and he had a quick conversation with someone and hung up and told us what had happened. He then wheeled out a television set (also one of the only teachers to have a TV in his room) and we watched the coverage for the rest of the hour.

I can't believe that was 25 years ago.

I was in the high school library along with several others. They had a TV in there and we were glued to it.
