So, there is your answer. Also, they are not broke, and still put out albums, as they have what is generally referred to as talent. The other's are three chord bands at best, and running on the fumes of their short lived glory days, just trying to pay their plastic surgery bills.
Rush was recently (last few years) inducted in to the Canadian Songwriter's Hall of Fame. The hairspray bands.... well... have done nothing worth mentioning.

70s - mid-90s Aerosmith is awesome, they got crappy after doing that song for Armageddon.
