The CMP Match starts at 9:00 am Saturday morning on the 18th:

John C. Garand Match, 50 shot course (adjustable to 30 shot)
Modern Military, 50 shot course (ditto)
Vintage Military Rifle Match, 50 shot course (ditto)

Requirements: Our Club does not have stringent regulations about the firearms to be used in these competitions.

For the John C. Garand: M1 rifle in 30-06 caliber. There will be a few rifles available for use if you Don’t have one. But, you have to bring your own ammunition. You will be allowed 5 sight-in shots, so buy at least 55 rounds.

For the Modern Military: This is the AR15 category. Pretty sure we’re going to allow just about any semi-auto rifle that is Military, such as the AK47, AK74, etc. No loaners available, though. Sorry. And, yes, adjustable butt stocks are gonna be allowed, unlike the actual Match rules. And shorter barrels (16”) will be allowed.

For the Vintage Military: Bolt-Action rifles such as the Mosin-Nagant, K98K, Russian M44, Springfield ‘03, Lee-Enfield Mark anynumber, etc. will be allowed as long as you haven’t put an Eotech on it! They have to be in pretty much original military configuration to qualify. No scopes, please.

All Matches will be conducted using CMP guidelines, but we are limited with our Range resources. This means that we may use different shooting positions than those required by the CMP. This means that we may have to use different targets. We may have to settle for using the shooting benches!

This Match will NOT be sent to the CMP, mainly because we haven’t had time to plan it out. They need at least a month’s notice. If all goes well, we’ll be doing things for Real in July!
