Just got off the phone with Coburn's office, he is for expanding background checks. Please call his office, remind him of who is supposed to be working for.
Coburn bailed on Schumers plot. Your time would be better served pinging Sen. Pat Toomey's office in PA. He's the new weakest link as of today. 
It is a shame that we cannot recall our elected officials in certian cases.

It is my understanding that you are now in favor or universal background checks. This is highly disappointing. In fact, if this is true then I consider you a traitor to your constituency and to the Constitution itself. Yes, those are strong words but you have taken a extreme and radical stance. I suppose you have nothing to lose being that you aren't seeking reelection next term so you probably find it advantageous to yourself to sell out to special interest groups. You are fortunate that you are not attempting to see reelection as I am 100% certain you would have failed that bid after supporting such an over reaching attack on the 2nd Amendent. I urge you to reconsider and to remember who you are supposed to be representing, the people of Oklahoma. We do not and will not support universal background checks.

The UBC plan I saw that he supported was basically a voluntary plan. You could could check on someone on the internet and there was no record keeping required. That was why no agreement was ever reached. Democrats can't abide by a system with no record keeping because it doesn't give them an excuse for registration.
Even if they write into the law that there will be no record keeping; a year from now they'll call it a loophole and just change the law.
They are constantly lying to the American people about types of weapons, statistics, etc. to get antigun legislation passed; why would anyone trust them?

We need to hold Coburn accoutable for his actions on this. I have not trusted him on this issue for a long time and firmly believe that he would trade his vote for some "promise" from the other side for one of his budget amendments that has a zero chance of passing.
