Finally got my hands on a Canadian-made Colt. I already have a nice Canadian lower (complete), but now I have another complete gun. This was likely shipped to a law enforcement agency here in the states and somehow made it's way on to the commercial market.

Aside from saying "Made in Canada" on the lower it has the Diemaco/Devtek "D" on the upper receiver and the bolt carrier, "MPD" on the bolt.

Cool stuff for Colt geeks like me.

Looks like a dupe of my Colt Lightweight Patrol Carbine unless the straight profile is heavier. Nice rig for those not tying grenade launchers to barrels, why carry that heavier barrel out front if not needed?

The barrels on the A3 Tactical Carbine are heavy profile under the handguards. The M4 style rifles (with the grenade launcher cut) are the thinner, gov't profile under the handguards. Some people say the A3 Tactical Carbine is one of Colt's most accurate rifles and credit the heavy barrel for that as it supposedly dissipates heat better or doesn't heat up as quickly.

Okey dokey...and that profile is accurate, no doubt...but even the pencil barrel Patrol Carbine could do MOA, but likely not for as many shots. Beautiful gun, excellent find, those things don't grow on trees south of the border.
