Colt pre-woodsman .22 cal pistol. Nice patina and shoots great, very accurate. Test fired 5 shots and functioned flawlessly. The bad news is there is a slight bulge in barrel about 2/3rds way toward the muzzle. Does not affect accuracy or function. I did run a patch down the barrel and there is a loose spot where the bulge is. Asking $450 cash or trade for something cool.

In case it helps, Colt's serial number lookup page beats all others IMO. My pre Woodsman is from 1926, and shoots great still! Wish I had the extra $$$ for this one...

Yep, IIRC that makes yours a year 3-4. I believe they started major production in 1916, having made a few (or 1?) in 1915

I have a commercial Colt 1911 made in 1917. What a pair of over 100 yr old pistols. Built to last. Not like most guns today.
