If the rock came with a pouch that carried several smaller rocks, and possibly a way to propel said rocks in a relatively rapid succession, it would be an assault weapon, if you use a sling to launch the weapon that was less than 48 inches long it would be an SBR, if you put the rock in a towel before throwing it, it would be illegally suppressed. As it stands a large rock by itself is not an assault weapon, it needs a flashlight and the thrower needs some type of improved optics!
