The resolution was adopted, with only Mayor Billy Hewes of Gulfport, Miss. and Mayor Kyle Moore of Quincy, Ill. registering their opposition.

The article goes on to cite the organization's long history of opposition to gun rights. Worth a read and definitely worth remembering as the campaign season warms up next spring/summer for the August primary. I'm sure he has some procedural dance he'll try to do to justify his lack of spine.

The website says that the Mayor of New Orleans Mitch Landrieu is the organization's new President, but have not been able to find a membership list other than that of the current and past leaders and committee members.

The mayor from Broken Arrow was the only other one from Oklahoma attending this particular conference. I know that doesn't answer your question but it's all I got.

Cornett get's a lot of credit for the success of bricktown and OKC in general. Truth is, Ron Norick fought that battle and changed OKC forever.
Cornett has reaped the political benefit of those that made it all happen.
He seems like a nice enough guy but as far as supporting the rights of others, not sure he cares.
Would he be a good Gov? A monkey with a stick would be better than what we now have. He could be. But that would depend on how he feels about supporting the state as a whole and pushing for what the majority of the people of this state supports.
We don't elect the Gov to be God. We elect him/her to implement the wishes of the people of Oklahoma.

It seems that growing businesses and population at an exponential level is considered success these days. I disagree. Rick Perry was so good at it in Texas for so long that he damn near turned the state blue with all the people and businesses he stole out of commiefornia. Mick would likely be fairly good at doing the same here. That seems to be his MO.

I don't want them to increase the population, build more roads, increase congestion, noise, etc. I like my wide open, quiet spaces and those bastages keep trying to fill them with wall to wall people and they call that success. I'd just like them to manage what we have already in an efficient manner. Been wanting that my whole life and have yet to see it. So I'll pass on voting for candidates that have this as their idea of successful government, if I wanted to live in a big city there are plenty I can go to.
