Craftsman 230 Pc mechanics set - Amazon

Got mine ordered, the rest of you talked me into it.

Anyone have any opinions of the tools for the price? The 1/2 inch ratchet feels like it could be 100 by itself to me. I've looked them several times and thought best 100 I've ever spent. Can't wait to use them. Been jacking around with mismatch unorganized stuff for too long.

Mine showed up today. I'm disappointed for two reasons with the first being it is only the 230. The second is that the 1/2" sockets are 12 point and the wrenches are 12 point as well.

Ahh. That does suck all around. Wonder why they went with 12 point on the 1/2".

I gotta say, I'm disappointed, I got the 230, I'm Ok with that, and the sockets weren't too bad, but I have never seen wrenches that cheap in all my life. They should have packed them in a Cracker Jacks box. I'm not a tool snob, but come on, I'm pretty sure that this is going back, I just haven't had time to really inspect yet, But I wanted to cry when I saw that stuff, Craftsman used to be good stuff. I bought this set for my truck, and if you need tools in your truck, you need something that will take the strain.

What's cheap about them? They feel a little better than the other cheap wrenches I have. Haha.

I was thinking the same thing. I wanted something for my van . The little pouches with the small wrenches have the bottom seam split open.

Are you talking about the plastic package the small wrenches come in? I threw those away and put the wrenches in their dish. I thought they were just packaging.

Mine came yesterday. 230 set. Still good enough deal to keep.
