I bought a Craftsman mechanic tool set similar to this (close to 300 pieces) from Sears in 1983...the year I got back from Japan. I still have every single piece in my tool chest except the original 3/8" ratchet. It broke probably 18 years ago but Sears replaced it.

I don't recall how much it cost me at the time but it was some of the best money I've ever spent.

All Chinese made junk now. Craftsman name means nothing now days.
I think these will be good enough for me. If I bought that many tools american made it would probably be 800 dollars. They seem fine for a non professional hobbyist

I need to break the crank bolt loose on a 35 year old ford. We will see if they hold up to that. If it does, should handle anything I do.

For $99 they can write Confucius proverbs on em and I'd still use the heck out em for that price.
Yes and the box with trays is a big deal for me because I don't like those clamshell ones and didn't want to have to buy and put together a good way to store them. Was tired of digging around for stuff
