Mega Machine, a manufacturer of very nice quality forged and especially nice billet receivers.
I never knew what the Lower / Upper Tensioning Screw was for, until I came to the realization that I had already misplaced it.
This morning I filled out a comment on their contact website, and in less than 30 minutes got a response. I offered to pay, I just wanted the screw; told me it was not necessary, asked for my address and they are mailing it out today.
Good company, I support their products, and they stand behind their name. I am proud to use their products, when the gun ban fear is over, buy their products with confidence.

Nikon rifle scopes.

I tried several different ways of contacting this much larger company, and received the same response each time.

My issue, the new Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 BDC riflescope design was recently reworked, and they sport a new fancy windage and elevation turret piece that lifts so you can reset to zero once you zero your rifle, without unscrewing the center screw.

Somehow I ended up with a new in box scope from basspro, that must have either had a loose windage screw, or none at all. I found that I was missing the screw when I was zeroing my rifle and when I turned the turret only to have it come off.... ... I looked all over for the screw and coud not find it. if it had one, its probably lost in the gravel at ussa...

I contacted nikon though two different emails, and a phone call, and all they would say was the scope is covered, but I would have to detach it form my rifle, and ship them my scope for them to install a new screw, they would not simply sell me a new screw.... Sure i understand they are willing to help, but I do not feel i should have to pay to ship the scope, nor wait for weeks without a scope while it gets shipped to them, processed and they put a new screw in, and ship it back... it just feels like a great deal of hassle to me over a little screw.
I will end up playing their game, and take advantage of the difficult AR15 ownership time (not being able to get ammo and components for 223 anyways....) and ship them the damn thing, but i am not happy about it.

Ah, the red tape of big corporations. There methods and procedures make no sense to anyone but the one that came up with it. I work for a company like that.
