Brand new CZ 457 Youth Scout.

A short review for a short rifle
32.5" of awesome with a 16" threaded barrel and 12" LOP.
Only comes with SS adapter so I need to find mags.
Fits any 457 stock
Irons are a pain in the ass to fine tune.

I give it 5 smileys. :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

Last 5 shots CCI Quiet 40gr 710 fps @ 40 yds with just the red lid showing over the irons:

I’ve got some but have never tried the quiet segmented hp ammo, but in my experience, the accuracy of the regular quiet ammo isn’t very good. It may be just my gun, but RWS subsonic ammo has been exponentially more accurate.

I'm struggling.
Wind.
Can't find my bags. (I'm shooting off the top of an ice chest.)
Parallax. LOP doesn't help.
57 yo eyes and I don't handle my coffee well anymore.:)
It ain't the rifle.

The objective is a handy light weight low noise low velocity rifle for pest control @<50 yds.
I need the segmented to work because LRN doesn't kill well short of headshots and they ricochet.

I'm ordering subsonic segmented.

In the meantime I picked up 45 gr Quiet @ 835 fps.

I got my steel mags in.
I need to find my bags, buy a new scope, and order ammo.
Nobody told me that buying a 22 was so expensive.

10 shot groups:

Try CCI Standard Velocity. 1050 fps
Haven't found any local yet.
It's on my short list.

Got a DIP rail in today.
I took my Weaver Classic Extreme 2.5-10X50 off my HMR and put in on the Scout.
More magnification and the side focus goes down to 50 yds.
I sighted in @ 45 yds with some Aguila Pistol Match 40 gr @ 1050 fps..

Lower left : 10 rounds
then upper left 5 rounds - 1 click right - and 5 more rounds
1 more click right and 10 in the upper right.
The shot in the middle was from me finding paper.
I called it good.

And the pay off.
To finish off my review: CZ kills squirrels dead.
Thanks for looking.

Update to the update:

10 round group with the Aguila Pistol Match @50yds:

And today I picked up a box of CCI SV and a box of Norma TAC22 (RWS headstamped).
It was windy when I got home but I put the Aguila VS CCI VS Norma head-to-head-to head with a 5 round group showdown.

Wind left to right @ 50 yds:

The Norma looked so good in the wind that I ordered 2500 rounds!

Wind died down this evening.
1st 10 round group attempt with the Norma.
Dis TAC22 is gud stuff, 20 rounds left.
