Interesting thread. I've had a number of Colt 1911's and all of them were great out of the box. I now carry a Compact, the SS version of the Defender. I've put hundreds of rounds through it and never had a problem. Being a short barrel its not the most accurate in the world but it goes bang every time. Fr CQB thats what I want, easy to carry and no fails.

As to the ********, I've never had one I didnt enjoy. YMMV
