[QUOTE="cal7.62x39, post: 3038246, member: 6824"] So the wife got tired of mowing around the roofrack in the back yard, so I got creative. I figured the reason I didnt like it on the jeep durring mock up was that it sat WAY to high. So I flipped it around, instead of bolting it on top of my cross bars I U-bolted them to the bottom with grade 8 U-bolts. It is as good as I can hope for shy of spending 800$+ for a rack thats manufactured for the arched roof of the ZJ. It now sites nearly 5 inches lower, and clears the roof by about 1/2 inch. I have 4 ubolts currently and did not budge with me yanking and jerking hard for a couple minutes on each end, but I am adding more for redundancy. I wish I could find 3X3 Ubolts, but all I found were 3X4. This is the start of my weekend project, More to hopefully come!
