yes 308, my "AR-10" style rifle had an issue with unfired cases getting stuck in the chamber and feeding issues. I figured out it was just the very bottom of the case sticking. Therefore, I decided to pick up a set of small base dies to correct the problem. I decided to anneal the brass as part of a complete prep of the brass.

Yours is a very nice machine. I'm not that good at building things so I bought this one.

I know this is an old thread but, I’ve got a question for you guys…
I’m in the process of building one of these myself. I’ve also settled on the “Skip” style for its simplicity. The only piece I’m having a hard time locating, at least since I only need 3” give or take, is the pvc rod. I’ve found it in 1’ pieces that are affordable, easy enough. Does anyone know a place locally, where I can get this? I don’t mind a 1’ piece, but if I could get it locally, it would be quicker, plus no shipping.
If someone has an idea other than pvc rod, I’m game as well. I’ve thought about wood, but it would have to be round since I don’t have a lathe, plus it would have to be light to keep the weight down.
Any ideas on materials or places to buy pvc rod in small amounts, 2”-3” diameter x 3”-12” lengths?

I assume that is for the center part with the notch to feed cases.
If you have a drill and a hole saw and some scrap wood laying around like plywood you could
cut wafers and glue them together to make the rod.

If you have a saw and a drill you could make a lathe if you get crafty.

You could also get hollow PVC and pound something into it like a tree branch then notch it.

Or sawdust you added wood glue to it and pack it full.

Just some ideas to get the brain working.
