Since AT&T and Yahoo had their divorce, we have been experiencing various issues with att.net email accounts. We have been to a corporate AT&T store, and to the local Apple store and they were not able to help my wife restore her account. Every two weeks, I get the message that I have attempted , unsuccessfully, to log in too many times and I have to reset my password.

So, even it will be a major task to change information everywhere, we will be changing email providers. We have had these att.net addresses for well over 10 years.

Any suggestions on providers?

I had a yahoo email for years then all of a sudden about 15 or so years ago i was no longer able to log in to it, but about that time my work issued all workers a email addy thru the work place so never bother with another one but then when i quit had to make a new one so i went with google mail since that i what i usually use the most for a search engine and main browser. It might not be the best but i have had so much BAD experience with AT&T and still do to this day i wont us their email cause they are always changing **** up.

Something to think about, privacy.

Most large email providers, such as Gmail and Yahoo, do not respect the privacy of your inbox. For example,

The problem is that actually secure email isn’t free, mostly because they don’t sell your info to government agencies, retailers, and advertisers. I’ve been considering switching from my Gmail to ProtonMail. I have heard it’s good, and it’s a few bucks a month to use it.

Gmail works well, just offers zero privacy with Google scanning everything.

I've been thinking of getting a domain just for email use. Seems like most cheap hosting providers will let you set up unlimited emails. Might be worth it.

There are a few encrypted providers like mailfence, that seem pretty secure.

I'd have two factor on anything I care about.

Try resetting your password. I was having that trouble repeatedly on my android phone. Reset the password to exactly what it was before on the phone, android tablet, and this Win10 desktop machine. No more problems since then. Been about 2 months so far. Good luck!

Resetting the password is what I want to be rid of. With AT&T/Yahoo, I am having to reset every two weeks. Went to Corp AT&T store and the Apple Store. Each tried to solve the problem for over 30-45 minutes and neither could solve it, but both hinted that the divorce between AT&T and Yahoo has caused many tech problems. So, now converting everything over to new gmail acts.

Sounds like you have some program, with an old password that keeps trying to log in to your account.
