That seems to happen in a lot of hazardous work/recreation activities. The people that have been doing it forever get complacent sometimes. Too bad it takes something like this to wake everybody up again.

I can't figure out why they would even release those pics. Only purpose they could serve would be to use them in training. I have spent over 18 years in aviation. I am always amazed by what is put out there for the public to see.
The sickest part of this report is the comment section after the pics. I'd like to kick the majority of them in the nards. I can't believe people even think like that.
I know there are some very tacky comments in there. It's almost like something I would expect from rotten

Yeah, I've seen things on that guy. If memory serves the helmet took the brunt of it.
Pretty sad though. I'm not even sure how I'd react to this if it was my family member.
