I wonder if they found out WHY the bad guy did what he did?
I love reading about dead offenders.

I'm so glad this is over and the little boy is safe; however, until they know "why" the guy did what he did, it will never be finished. Don't get me wrong, I have been following the story, praying for Ethan, but I'm curious why he did this. It doesn't seem like he hurt the kid physically, and he had to know people would find him. Its just crazy.
According to various news reports he had an issue with the government. I think someone reported that he wanted to get attention to his "cause," and had planned to kidnap two boys a little older than the kid he did get. The bus driver blocked his way until most of the kids got out the back door, and it appears the 5 year old may have been the only one he was able to catch.
One report said that the murder of the bus driver might be deemed a "hate crime." Presumably the driver was of a different race than the shooter, but one thing we know for sure is that the driver gave his life to protect those kids. I hope that we remember to do whatever is needed for his survivors.
I'm glad the kid is okay, and glad that the bastard who took him is dead.
My 14 year old daughter went to grade school in Midland City. She might have been on that bus except her mother and step-father moved a few miles down US-231 to Ozark a couple of years ago. I am glad Ethan is safe.

Thank GOD! That was the best news that I heard in a long time. I heard about it on the radio yesterday and said a couple of prayers. I am glad the boy made it out physically safe. I hope he has a good recovery. There is an address on bud and broadways facebook page for anyone who wants to send him a belated b-day card (it's tomorrow).
