Ex-US Rep. Gabby Giffords attends NY gun show

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — A smiling Gabrielle Giffords toured rows of tables loaded with rifles and handguns in her first visit to a gun show since surviving a 2011 shooting, and pleaded afterward for people to come together to stop gun violence.

The former Arizona congresswoman visited the Saratoga Springs Arms Fair on Sunday with her astronaut husband, Mark Kelly and New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to highlight a voluntary agreement that closely monitors gun show sales in New York.

The trio mixed with a gun show crowd that was mostly welcoming — with a few hostile undertones — before calling for people to build on the cooperative effort.

"We must never stop fighting," Giffords said at a post-tour news conference, her fist in the air. "Fight! Fight! Fight! Be bold! Be courageous!"

I dont mean this to be demeaning or non empathetic but she still isnt right in the head. I believe that her and her husband are CCL carriers? What are they thinking going into a gun show with their cause in mind? Weird.

The owner/organizer of the show made his own more-strict rules that there were no private sales at he show; that all sales had to be through FFLs and require a NICS check. Gabby and Mark no doubt see that as the model of their perfect future firearms legislation world.

Exactly. This is the old "snake in the grass" tactic. She's trying to show the world that she's one of "us", the pro-2A people. She is trying to get us to lower our shields. Make us think "well, she's not that bad" which makes us more adept to accept the message of "sensible gun control"... The NRA needs to get back in gear and take the fight to them.
