I know we have all heard about different coatings...here is a comparison between Hard Chrome and NiB (EXO) coatings...

This is the first time I've had a new bolt in both coatings at once to do a comparison, so hopefully this helps one of you make a future decision on whether or not NiB is worth having:

Needless to say, I'm running the FZ and the YNM is history!

I just watched your video and there is no question... that is impressive. Does FZ guarantee the finish for any length of time? I'm curious to know if multiple rounds down range and cleaning sessions will take their toll on lubricity or not.

I'm not sure of expectations, but I haven't seen issues with longevity of the coating.

I think the YNM BCG is Sexy and really wanted to keep it, but there is no denying that NiB coating.

I wish I had a standard BCG to compare all 3, as I know the Hard Chrome already has advantages over standard base coatings.

^^If I lived a little closer, I could throw in a standard bolt for comparison.

I know my LWRC BC is slicker than snot. A whole lot smoother than my standard BC. I built an AR for my buddies dad and he wanted the best of everything. I bought one of those Fail Zero BCG's for him and I have to agree that they are pretty damn slick. I've never had issues with my standard BC, but I agree the FZ ones are nice.

What are the dimensional difference between the BCGs?

I don't know, didn't put calipers on them but let us know what you find out with a little Google FU.

Can I buy your YNM BCG?

A buddy of mine wants it, so it's spoken for. That's what made me "compare" these 2 in the first place. I had both BCGs and he wanted the one I didn't want. The YNG is the one I WANTED to keep just because of the sexiness of the bolt and I didn't think there would really be a performance difference, but after sliding them in the upper I was amazed, so I am keeping the FZ (plus it has a coated hammer with it).
