Right down the road from my house up on the S.N. mountain in northern California is a small microbrewery, SnowShoe brewery/restaurant. Since I go back and forth between Oklahoma, Iowa and California every other month running my businesses, I always try to bring home some of Snowshoes wheat, apricot, and pale ales as well as some Sierra Nevada pale ale, which Ive been drinking forever it seems. When Im here I just go to the liquer store and grab some strong beer when Im gettin my other stuff or wine for the house, no particular brands really, I some times like to try new stuff, and I will go between darks and lights to bitters or sweets. Im not a purist or a connisseur at all, I just want something that tastes good and gets me fcked up- and no 3.2 for me.

Drank a few Young's Double Chocolate Stout while watching the Texans. This 5.2 percent has the flavors of coffee, burnt coffee, an earthy flavor, leather and a tad bit of chocolate.....NO-not a candy bar flavor, but a nice British stout flavor.

Glassware makes a huge difference, that is why I like the 3 liter glasses at Royal Bavaria!

I don't think the beer made at Royal Bavaria is aged properly. It's still too... sharp or twangy. I don't think they exactly stick to the Rheinheitsgebot. This drive meine Frau insane!
