filling out the form 1 and cleo notification

i started the process last night for my form 1, i got to the form 5020.23 cleo notification. a buddy with suppressors said i just had to tell them, but the form shows signature for the cleo to sign. I am in pittburgh county and they are pretty good about stuff but i want to come correct. Some have even talked about a cover letter, i have seen nothing on it.. so i am lost.

Every page that says "CLEO Copy" on the bottom gets mailed to your county sheriff.

So educate me. What is a form 5320.23 for? Are you manufacturing a firearm?

By the way, I just found this out today (and it might not apply to you), if you have done fingerprints at a SilencerShop kiosk, you can order printed fingerprint cards with your fingerprints and info ready to go for $15 per set. I was happy to pay that to ensure that my fingerprint cards are not going to get rejected.

Form 5320.23 is where you mark which form you are filing. Form 1 is if you are making a suppressor or "making" (more like designating) a lower/receiver as an SBR. Form 4 is if you are purchasing a suppressor or SBR from a licensed dealer...

yes i am using the eform. it is a new experience for me and i can see me doing another one or two builds.

Your cleo shouldn't have to sign anything.
