Well I finally got lucky. Friday i went pawn hopping and the last place i went was bills sporting goods. This was hanging on a peg behind the gun counter,i spotted it from 10ft away. I asking to see and it kept saying in my head please dont let it be overpriced please dont let it be overpriced. Well things were in my favor as the pistol was marked in the sub $500 range,I scottished down roy on the price some more from there and I am the new owner of a 4506-1. Been looking for one for over a year. She's marked on the righthand side of the frame H.P.D. 381.Houston PD maybe???

Congratulations!! You've got a 45ACP handgun that will outlast you an several generations. Its also what lugged around with as a duty weapon, an even as heavy as she was, she was comforting!!!

Nice. You will love it. Pic of mine below.
The transition from a long DA pull to a short SA pull doesn't seem to bother me as much as all the gun writers tell me it does.
Accurate and dependable....but heavy. My holster is a duty weight Safariland I found in the used box a a pawn shop.

Well, I guess I gotta show mine here. Now I no longer have a 4506-1(They pretty much shot like a lazer), but do have 4566, an the decocker/safety is just a decocker, an her accuracy is as good if not better than his bigger brother.

Nice boat anchors! When I was issued a 4506 by my agency, it was one of the older ones with the hooked trigger guard and the non-Novak rear sight. I don't have big hands, so the rubber Hogue grups didn't work so well. However, I found a curved factory grip and used a Hogue handall slip on over that. Problem solved!
