flash hider/ muzzle brake

is there different threads on a heavy barrel ar vs a regular barrel i was wanting to change the brake on the heavy barrel got it off and tried a regular flash hider i took off another rifle i was wondering if anyone else has run into this thanks in advance

Threads SHOULD be the same.
The id of the HB muzzle device may be larger(.750-.950) and the other may be smaller id(.650).

Should be 1/2x28.

some brands of barrel companies use 1/2 x 36 instead of 1/2x28 not many though.
