The seesaw will go up and down on this for many years before one side or the other sees any form of permanent satisfaction. The threat to students across the Country increased exponentially based on copycat type scenarios and we want to blame the head of the FBI and POTUS for these attacks. How bout that segment of society that wants me to believe that an AR15 is going to enable more killings than a truck at an event in Paris, or a knife on a bridge in London, or a bomb strapped to a sycophant in iraq blowing up school children actually accept responsibility for raising their children? Instill some core values from birth that teach right from wrong and not a sense of entitlement, maybe even to accept the hand you are given and work your arse off to better yourself over the course of your life. Many a Private reached Sergeant Major or General Officer by busting their butt to improve their situation. Many a CEO was made from a mailroom clerk, why is this so hard to grasp? My advice to my kids, all 6 of them. 1. You will surpass my achievements in life, it is only natural. 2. The people around you owe you nothing, you must create a niche for your craft. 3. The family you build is your only source of permanent support, build it well and with the right spouse. 4. Credit is for your home, try to pay cash for everything else. We do not need to drive expensive cars or wear high end clothes. 5. Life is not fair, you must prepare for bad things to happen to good people. 6. Your word is all you have at times, make it count. 6. God created man in his image, not the other way around. The list goes on, but you get the drift. In other words, you are owed nothing and have the ability to be anything your drive and motivation allows you to pursue. NEVER expect a handout, it always has a cost.
