I read some about it. Didn’t really learn much. Just looks like something for frens to have fun with to me.
Its just a meme. If I were to try to dive in to it, I see it as more or less seeing things from a simpler standpoint and enjoying things as they come. Keeping things simple, feeling good about life, having friends. The reasoning behind people saying "frens" instead of friends is because "frens" has no end to it. Friends, girlfriend, best friend, etc all have and end. True frens never end.I’m glad y’all are out here proving Pepe the frog isn’t some alt-right extremist hate symbol… it’s really just an idiotic meme intended for laughs, right?
I mean seriously, please explain the frog meme thing to me.
As a person who isn’t exactly hip on techy internet culture I’m genuinely curious
Precisely. Fun for the sake of fun itself. and frens.I read some about it. Didn’t really learn much. Just looks like something for frens to have fun with to me.

Dude! I sent you that selfie of me in confidence! Now everyone knows what I look like!
That clears it up for me, a generational thing, I'm going to get a fresher.Pepe was not initially an alt-right symbol. In most cases it continues to not be an alt-right symbol, however there are lots of example of the alt-right using it as a symbol. Generally speaking it is an idiotic meme and a case study in how something goes on the internet and gets a purpose and then a repurpose and then another repurpose until finally it kind of organically dies out of meme culture. It's final disposition will never be known until that it's end really. There's a parallel to the swastika --- it was obviously not a Nazi symbol, however, that was the final disposition of it after it was appropriated. Whether or not Pepe's will continue as a general BS meme or not or be condemned by it's co-opting is I think TBD a little bit.
