Got a friend looking for a milsurp bolt gun. He cannot afford a $1000 collector piece, he wants to shoot.
Prefer a 6.5x55 Swede M96 but would consider almost anything that is not an 8mm Mauser.
Maybe a decent 7x57; a Swiss, Spanish, or one of the South American Mausers
Maybe a NICE (prewar) Hex-receiver Mosin 91/30; perhaps a Tula. No sewer-pipe barreled crappy Izzy refurbs, no M48 carbines.
Maybe a Finn M39, M28, M28/30?
Perhaps a Finn-capture and reworked 91 or 91/30?
Must be as-issued, with issue sights. Bumps and dings, character flaws are fine.
Something that comes with brass and/or dies is even better.
No sporters, no scope-mounted "sniper" rifles, no sawn-down barrels, no Bubba'd junk.
In central Oklahoma, but could possibly travel some?
