Its correct, it is a region/federation within Russia. Pretty poor, and wrestling is an extremely popular sport. Not much in the way of jobs, so people just send their kids to wrestling/fighting camps with the hopes that they will get good and be famous. More or less a region of warriors, who are known for being strict, and absolute weapons. Most of the Russian UFC fighters, and Russian Olympic wrestlers/fighters are from the region.
