lol, yes. Not to mention it was legal for a person to convert semi autos into full autos up until 1986 with the ATF tax and approval. Plus Some manufacturers can make non transferrables for themselves that have to be destroyed when they close and go out of business.

I was wondering about that myself? IIRC, in some videos they talk about them(autos) being called dealer samples(?) or some such terminology/designation - what Seadog what was referring to.

Yes to manufacturer demos. I shot an MP5 once and it locked up cold before I ran it dry. Took the "owner" and a friend 30 minutes to get it apart and cleared/safe. The extractor had sheared completely off and I was then sweating bullets because I broke a $25,000 machine gun. The owner said "don't sweat it, it's a dealer demo. All it takes is a phone call to HK and I get any new parts it may need."

The AK-47 has been around since.................................1947. There are a lot of states you can buy full auto including OK.
