Just my 2 cents on ammo intell at Wal-Mart, Norman.

I was in the Norman (West side) Wal-Mart this morning (8:30 AM) and I always make a point to go by and check on the ammo selection. The ammo shelf was extremly bare. I mean maybe 3-4 boxes including birdshot 12 gage in the entire cabnet. That has been the typical selection for the past 8-10 weeks when I have been by....

There was another customer in the area and when the "sporting goods employee" came by a few seconds later he asked us two customers if we needed anything. The other customer asked if they had any recent ammunition deliveries and the employee said they had some ".45 ACP and some Independence 5.56".....then inquired if we wanted some of it....I did not need either caliber so I declined.

Makes me wonder though if they are even putting anything out since no .45 or 5.56 was on display. Especially on a Sunday morning. Also no signage limiting any ammunition sales.

Had something similar happen at one of the WMs in Lawton.

Around 8 PM and I was scoping out the ammo cabinet.
The employee asked if there was anything he could help me with.
I said "well, not unless you can magically make some ammunition appear."

He pulled out the keys and said "well, what are you looking for?"

Figured I'd shoot the moon and said "how about some .223 or 22?"

Well, I have some .223.

He opened up the locked cabinet under the register and pulled out the 3 boxes that had my name on them.

07-13-13 update.

This morning around 7:15 AM, I was in the West side Norman Wal-Mart with my weekly shopping list list provided by Mrs. centraloklahoma.

I happen to wonder down to the "AMMO LINE" of about ten guys in the sporting good area. Clerk had one box of each item on the counter so guys could see what was available.

LIMIT WAS 3 BOXES TOTAL PER CUSTOMER.

They had some 100 round bulk packs in 9mm, 250 round packs of 45 ACP, and 50 round boxes of 40 cal. They had Federal bulk pack .22LR, I think it was 325 round "Auto Match" and some type of boxed Remington .22 lr. I did not see any 5.56mm, 7.62 X 39, or .308.

The Winchester 9mm 100 round packs were $22.95. I am not sure what the other prices were.

A guy in line advised the Norman Academy had 5.56mm at $11.95 a box that allegdely was not being limited to how many one customer was purchasing at a time. He did not mention brand.
