I can't speak for the G30 but had a 19 as my first carry gun. I loved it. Carried well and was nice to shoot. I now carry a 26 and couldn't be happier. I personally like 9mm over a 45. Less recoil and cheaper to get. But like others have said, it's a personal preference. Glad you got what you wanted. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Even though its not a Glock(I've owned both Glock's mentioned)I like the Kahr CW45. Granted it doesn't carry as many rounds, but it does function with standard 1911A1 magazine's, is thinner than the G30 an is just as accurate, if not more, than the G30.

I finally got to the range. I shot my Glock 22 from work and my Glock 30. Loved the Glock 30. Shooting the same course of fire (CLEET 25yrd course) with both. I did better with the G30. From 15yrds in all my shots were in the center ring of a standard CLEET target with the G30. My group with the G22 was a bit larger and a little left.

I absolutely love my G30, it has been my carry gun for 6+ years.

All 9mm vs .45 ACP issues aside, the larger grip of the .45 fits my hand much better.

It just points where I want it to without thought, and I can easily shoot it better than even my full-sized G17.

I have tried to find the perfect balance between size, capacity and power. I have finally come to the conclusion that the Glock 19/23/32 size is as close as I can find. Big enough to actually use and the largest thing I'll actually routinely carry. Pick the bullet you want to launch and go from there.

Everyone's different, this is just what I've found to be true for me.

BTW, this is coming from a former Glock hater. I spent a ton of money only to prove my innitial ideas wrong.

I have both. Like both. Prefer the 19 for more capacity. Wife hasn't shot the 19 but she shoots the 30 better than the 17 I have. No idea why but sometimes it's best to just go with it...
