Message: <blockquote data-quote="swampratt" data-source="post: 4154440" data-attributes="member: 15054">When I did my testing it was just after 2007 when they dropped the ZDDP in oils to below 800 PPMfor passenger car oils  and I was running Mobil 1 synthetic at the time and getting 33 mpg like clock work.My mpg dropped to 29 and I had tested many oils and that 29 was what cheap walmart synthetic would get before the year  2007.So now I was on a search for something that would get my MPG back up.I thought something was wrong with my car other than the new oil package.Until I changed oil in a riding mower which also got Mobil 1 and it immediately began squealing like a dry bearing.Dumped that oil and went Rotella conventional and my Corolla got T6 Rotella which was a heavier weight vs my 5-30 but now my mpg went to 35.Yea 35 mpg with diesel oil.I had tested mobil syntetic as light as 0-20  and no more MPG vs the 5-30.Oil additive packages change yearly and I have tried Mobil Euro and high mileage recently and it is not good in my corolla or the wife's Vibe.Ticking on start up and MPG is not there.Believe it or NOT Pennzoil platinum and Quaker state Full synthetic in green bottle got my 33 mpg.The New Mobil 1 29 mpg and ticking on start up.I do not like any oil that can't cling to parts and allows ticking on start up.My hot rods gets Driven oils by Joe Gibbs or VR1 Valvoline conventional in the silver bottle.</blockquote>
