All it takes is one distiller to try something,,,
Then every other distiller has to copy the act.

Remember the influx of Honey Bourbons of a few years back?

Evan Williams did one and very soon after,,,
Every other distiller had a Honey Bourbon.

Wild Turkey has a American Honey Bourbon that's so-so for taste,,,
But they also have one out that's called,,,
Wild Turkey American Honey Sting.

This one has just a hint of "ghost pepper" (whatever that is),,,
A friend gave me an airline mini bottle of that stuff,,,
I poured it straight over one big ice cube,,,
It was absolutely wonderful!

And I hate hot peppers.

Even Tequila distilleries get in on the act,,,
Hornitos Black Barrel is a blanco tequila that is aged in old whiskey barrels.

I keep a bottle of that around for the occasional shot on the rocks.

Sometimes the oddest sounding things turn out well.

As far as making a Bloody Mary with that stuff,,,
I have never heard of a Bloody Mary that wasn't made with Vodka.

I myself make a bacon infused vodka for Bloody Marys,,,
I usually give out some Mason Jars of this concoction to my friends.

I tell them it's for Bloody Marys,,,
But one of my buds likes to drink it straight.

Go figure.

I recently made some smoked brisket infused bourbon. It turned out very well.

If you make 80%+ corn mash for bourbon, but recycle the barrel, and age it a bit, you end up with simply corn whiskey.

It can be decent stuff. Take Mellow Corn, Bottled in Bond. Aged 4 years, 100 proof, and around 12 bucks a bottle (I think I paid like, 10.99). Interesting stuff to try for a super low price.

Yes it it interesting but one that I doubt I'll buy again. Taste like liquid sweet corn to me.
