Depends on where the bullet hit, and how quickly the heart stopped beating. A bullet entry wound will close up pretty easily, and if no major vessels are hit, there is often very little or no bleeding.
The heart has it's own electrical system that keeps pumping even if the brain isn't sending any signals. This is why a head shot will pretty much dump all the blood out of the body. A shot to the heart stops the pump and then there is only small leakage occurring which is based on the size and location of the wound.

The photographer's story about the shooting is pretty crazy. I think it's impressive how well he did his job while all of that was going on
