Glock 27 recoil spring

So I was cleaning my 27 the other day and noticed that the back part of the recoil spring was starting to crack. I saw a thread somewhere that this is a problem others have had. So I ordered a new spring and this is what I got in the mail today. I'm not a huge glock person and don't know a whole lot about them. So I was wondering what the difference in these two spring is. The top one is the factory.

The bottom RSA is for a Gen4 GLOCK 26/27. The top spring is for the earlier generation subcompacts.

Thanks for the info! Is it safe to run in a gen 3?
