I'm sick of hearing about "need". "Why do you need an assault rifle?" Why do you need a high capacity clip?" "Why do we need a gun show loophole?" "Why do you need an automatic rifle to hunt deer?" Blah, blah, blah...

From now on, whenever I hear these stupid, ridiculous arguments, my response will simply be "Because all gun control is racist!" I'm more than willing to explain why the anti-gun mentality is racist and provide documented examples. I'm more than willing to suggest that anyone who disagrees with me might be racist. I'm sick of these scurrilous attacks and I'm ready to fight fire with fire. It's WAY past time that we put these fools on the defensive, rather than the other way around!

Feel free to add any examples you may find. It's time we identified the real villains in this fight!

I completely agree with you, Jerry. It's absolutely time to go on the offensive and fight fire with fire. I just couldn't help from posting that gif through.

I had a relative who is an NRA member ask me that! Why do you need a 30 round mag? I almost came unglued! I told him last time I checked it didn't say Bill of Needs.

I'm afraid our fight is with more than the gun grabbers. Like shorton, I've had several conversations just in the last week that go something like this:

"I'm an NRA member, CCL holder, I have a mini-14 with a hundred round clip, but I wish they'd get rid of those AK47s."

and "I've been an NRA life member for 45 years, but you should see some of the people that buy guns at gun shows. I'm okay with background checks for every transaction."

"I have guns but nobody really needs. . ."

Unfortunately, the education battle is with many on "our side."

The only justification I "need" is that I enjoy shooting and collecting guns. I feel like I'm preaching to the chior here, but why is it so hard to see that "high cap mags" are simply not a problem. I suppose that most in the gov know this but they need something to demonize. That way the have something for the unwashed masses to hate other than congress.

Sorry, I cant shoot for sh$t no matter how much I practice and I'm out there all the time, so basically I need more rounds in my mags or higher capacity mags so that I can hopefully eventually hit some thing or some body when I might need to use my firearm for whatever reason a person would need to.

Sad but true rawhide. I don't agree with the need for background checks thing, but I can understand how people would. I just think we need to do a better job with the 20,000 laws we have on the books already.

Enforcing current laws and repealing a few would be a good start. Glocktogo is absolutely correct. We need to be on the offensive in educating people about the history and unintended (or not so unintended) consequences of "feel good, keep us safe" laws.

One aspect that hasn't been discussed is the growing stigma of being a gun owner. The media has been working hard to make us social outcasts in the eyes of the public. Holder actually said that this was his strategy. I think that many gun owners sense this and want to make themselves look better by being in favor of certain gun control measures.
