The carbon footprint of a single operating wind turbine far exceeds the power output capability of the lifetime of the turbine. That isn't debatable. Hell the electricity used in welding the steel tube together alone is incredible. Plus the milling of the steel in the first place. Then you have the VOC emissions produced by the 100's of 1000's of pounds with the styrene and other VOC's in the resin used to make the blades. Then you have the trucking to get them to the construction site, then you have installation and maintenance. Last but not least is decommission and disposal. And it goes on and on and on. The carbon footprint for one of those things is astronomical, and far exceeds their ability to produce power. I get it, we need to be exploring alternate, cleaner energy. Wind is not the answer, it is a net loss, we know it's a net loss, and yet we are erecting these things by the 10's of 1000's. That is insanity. Consider all of that, then consider the nonreliable production of power produced by wind and you have a folly the size of Jupiter. It is nonsensical, and it needs to stop. Wind is destroying the planet and the environment, and nothing to do with producing wind power makes sense for either the environment or the power industry.
