Happy Days is a great show. My kids love watching the old stuff. Nice to not have to screen some of those like the new stuff.

Changing times and values. People these days aren't as likely to watch a show where they joke about a young lady in a poodle skirt getting busted for chewing gum in class, as they are about the same young lady getting busted for wearing a shirt that showed off her bra and tramp stamp...

Whatever happened to shows like this?

If they had that show nowdays, Fonz would be a recovering alcoholic, Joni would be a lesbian, Richie would be gay, Mr. C would be secretly bomping the neighbor down the street, and Ralph would be desperately trying to escape a Satanic cult.

That's pretty much TV these days.

I think the point being made isn't why there arn't shows like this anymore but why wont' a show like be watched today. I believe reality TV and the fact that parents don't spank their kids have a lot to do with it. I have been blessed with four great kids. I spanked them when they needed it and they still call adults Mr and Mrs until told otherwise, even the two in their 20s. No magic formula, just being involved with your kids and knowing who they hang out with. Not a perfect family by far, but from the people I see on TV I am really blessed.
