I typically start my day watching youtube and noticed many of the Youtube personalities say stuff like my viewership is dropping or make sure you are subscribed. I assumed they were just trying to get more people to sign up for their channel and acting as though there "knowledge" was so radical that youtube would try to devoice them. Guess what on Saturday it actually happened to me on the following YouTube Channels:

https://www.youtube.com/@EconomicNinjahttps://www.youtube.com/@DecoyVoicehttps://www.youtube.com/@Godfamilyandgunshttps://www.youtube.com/@LangleyOutdoorshttps://www.youtube.com/@LegallyArmedAmericahttps://www.youtube.com/@PeanutHawkhttps://www.youtube.com/@ThisisJohnWilliamshttps://www.youtube.com/@GunsGadgets
I will qualify this, It was on the Cox Cable YouTube App, I signed up again, but all of those have show I was not subscribed. My wristwatch channels are all there, absolutely no issues with them. My car channels are all there, no issues there. Historical video channels, all there. The ones that are missing are all Pro 2A, Poke fun at the pres, or go against the current economic news.

I don't watch those channels and take their word as entirely truth BTW. I like their viewpoints and in many cases can verify what they are saying, or provide more detail than the news does.

Anyone else having a similar issue?

I have a theory that YouTube's subscription system is just bugged, and then most hardcore YT watchers probably have dozens if not hundreds of subs and it's easy to THINK you were subbed to a channel but never really were (especially if you watch curated content from the main page or side bar).

Most tech companies, behind the scenes, are an absolute mess of subpar code and employees who all have higher priorities than working on the stuff that people use 95% of the time. I know because I work for one LOL.

I get the bug issue... coders are wired differently, they can work watching three screens, one with code, the other with work related stuff, and the third watching videos...

So you don't think youtube is purposely unsubscribing people? Just found it weird the "critical" channels needed to be re upped, not the mainstream ones?

I'm sure there are YT employees with a huge political bias and they would pull that ****. After Musk bought twitter we saw how the previous management had certain accounts flagged for wrongthink.

But there are a LOT of YT channels that would need this treatment and after a certain point it would just be easier for the YT mods to come up with a BS reason to just terminate a YT channel for TOS violations. The intermittent shadow games thing with subscriber counts smells more like bad coding to me than malicious behavior.

I really don’t have those issues. Most of my YouTube subscriptions are gun channels, with some diy/fabrication, cooking, and computer nerd/IT/Security stuff mixed in.
