They have step bits up to, I believe, 1 1/2". Doesn't do the OP any good, but in case you're ever looking again for a big caliber metal bit.

I saw those, but the thickness of what I am drilling would not allow a step up bit. I need a plain ol' twist.

I will also second the OP to check Wholesale Tool. They's good people.

I'm tellin' ya... Wholesale Tool is all you need to know.

If anyone has it, they will and they will likely have several options based on your need / price range. They will also likely be the cheapest in town.

I've gots ta ask though... what on earth are you drilling that you need a 1"x12" metal cutting bit?

I need a 1" drill bit that is 12" long. It is for metal so a wood bit won't work. Where can I find this.

Thanks,
J

As asked, what are you drilling? HF sells silver deming bits fairly cheaply but they are around 6" in length. These work well for thickness less than an inch with my floor model drill press, just got to keep it lubed.

Rule company or wholesale tool. Retool isnt someplace i would recommend. The guys working the counter at wholesale tend to be pretty down to earth and are more interested in helping the customer over making a sale.

I just suggested them because they have a bunch of random stuff you never know what you're going to get its like a box of chocolates right?
