Does anyone do or could recommend a mobile hydraulic repair person or company. I need them to come to the truck.

We have a bucket truck that seems to of just stopped working anything hydro related. I can confirm that the PTO is engaging and the electric over hydraulic emergency pump is operating the boom but not the outriggers and they are stuck extended. once we get them up we could take the truck anywhere we need to.

Any ideas / recommendations??

Thanks in advance

Disconnect the hose on the back of the cylinder attach another hose long enough to reach a container to catch the oil use a come along to pull up out rigger . You may have to rock the control lever as out rigger comes up

the thought has crossed my mind.

Being double acting cylinders I'd have to disconnect both lines and the safety valve (mounted right on the outrigger). My fear is the mess and that the truck would slam down on the ground at mach 3.

There's a very good chance you can pull the outriggers up with a come along or hi-lift while holding the valve open that retracts the outrigger. Then you have no oil loss.

Its hard for me to explain because I only know barely enough to be dangerous but this is not possible. There is a safety device that blocks flow unless there is a very high amount of pressure (like from the pump). The idea is that when the bucket is extended if a hose blew the truck would not tip over. Right now the truck tires are basically in the air held up by the outriggers. Lever does nothing.

CowCatcher. I'm going to PM you tonight with a picture of the belt I want you to make for me. =)

Has locking blocks, crack fitting on back of cylinder ease it down a little then do other side. open front fitting a little to let air in.I would have bet it had locking blocks . That is why I posted to deal directly with cylinder, use caution go slow.

I get what you're saying. Double acting cylinders like a tractor loader will move without the tractor running as long as a force is pushing/pulling the cylinder. I did not consider the safety features that I'm sure your rig has on it.
