Actually, he did. He had an AR15, a bolt action rifle, a shotgun and a handgun. The AR15 was left at the scene.

I'm shocked that it hasn't been reported. Equally shocked that if he had a handgun & shotgun after leaving the roof, why didn't he kill himself as is usually the course of action.
