I have an older version of Acu Rite that works well except summer heat in direct sunlight is a bit higher than actual. No rain dump and no reset to 0. Easy to set settings too.
Been using one of these for several years. It has been reliable, easy to set up and use, wireless works fine, and the color display is nice. Gives us just about all the info we need including wind speed and direction, wind speed history, alternating display of humidity and temp in and out, etc., just about everything EXCEPT rainfall amounts, which we get from a simple backyard rain gauge. Seems to be very accurate. After 3 years we're now on our second coin battery in the solar-charge-assisted outdoor unit (the outdoor sensor/transmitter unit is mounted 8' up on a flagpole in front of our house, about 80' away from the kitchen wall remote (which runs from a typical wall wart with AA batteries for power outage backup). Keeps time/date and data during power outages, but of course during that time the display is off.Does anybody use something like this? I kinda looked into them a few years ago but never got one because no internet here to transmit the signal. Now that there's internet....kinda want one again.
Things to look for or avoid?
