Thank you, sir, for ridding our streets of another criminal. This should be the expected outcome every single time somebody breaks into another's home. EVERY TIME.

We had something similar happen in Ponca City a few years back and there was a discussion on this forum about it.
Family at home hears someone beating on the front door, so the homeowner armed himself and called 911. He repeatedly yelled at the person outside to go away, but the guy kept trying to break the door down. Homeowner told the 911 operator that if he made it into the door, he was going to shoot.
Sure enough, the door broke down and the guy came in. You could hear the gunshot on the 911 tape.
Fortunately for the guy breaking in, it was a .22 rimfire, and he survived.
Drunk dude at the wrong house it turned out.
