Traditional battle belts have a huge flaws. First, they are overly bulky and heavy for what they're going to be carrying. Also, they will ride up when you crouch and bounce around when you're running. They add a lot of weight and the bulk is unnecessary what what you're going to be carrying. The trend now is going towards a low profile / slick inner and outer belt system. Basically you have an inner trouser belt that has hook or loop velcro. You then have a 1.75" or 1.5" stiff web belt that you wear on the outside that attaches to your inner belt using the velcro. Your mags, IFAK, holster, ect are all attached to the smaller outer belt. This makes a setup that is tons lighter, far more low profile and slick, and actually more comfortable than a USGI War Belt type system. Not only that, the belt won't shift, ride up, or bounce around. There's an off the shelf solution from High Threat Concealment that MAC talks about in his video and he talks about some of the same problems / issues I have with a traditional War Belt system. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HF3zjnrPhkw. G-Code is now getting into the game with their own low profile Scorpion system. Much like how AR's used to have heavy quad rails that were bogged down with weight and accessories to now thinner profile and lighter / slick setups, belts and carriers are going through the same transition. Lighter and slick is the way the industry is going and it's a good thing. If you want a slick, low profile belt system, but absolutely have to have PALS webbing for molle attachements. Volund makes a 2" micro battle belt that has micro pals webbing. It's quickly becoming the standard for bets and the only one in it's class, currently. http://store.volundgearworks.com/index.php/volund-gearworks/atlas-cobra-belt/atlas-micro-battle-belt.html I'd take a photo of my belt setup, but I'm away from home right now.
